INCLEMENT WEATHER GUIDELINES
The Silver Cup has never had a complete Rain-Out.
As long as the golf course is playable and the greens are not saturated, the Silver Cup will be played in the rain as scheduled. Since the Silver Cup is played in the Fall, we have light until approximately 8:00pm to play.
Due to the golf course calendar of scheduled events and being held later in the year, it is unlikely that the Silver Cup can be re-scheduled for another weekend.
In the event there are rain delays or a rain-out, "The Captains shall use their reasonable effords to resolve any unforeseen controversies or circumstances including inclement weather." The Director of Golf and Course Superintendent will be involved in the decision process.
The points below are merely guidelines and thoughts.
SATURDAY MATCHES:
- Short AM Rain Delay: Play at least the Four-Ball matchs and try and play the Foursome matches if sufficient daylight is available
- Long AM into PM Rain Delay: Delay as long as possible until course is playable and play just the Four-Ball Matches.
- Saturday Total Washout: Play singles matches only on Sunday
- Any Saturday completed rounds are counted towards official scores
SUNDAY MATCHES:
- Short AM Rain Delay: Play singles matches only
- Long AM into PM Rain Delay: Delay as long as possible until course is playable and the first completed single rounds would stand
- Play can continue as long as there is daylight (approximated 8:00pm)
